Have questions about getting a tattoo? This FAQ page covers the most common topics. I’m always updating this page, so please check back from time to time!

Do you accept walk-ins or do I need an appointment?

Low Life Studios does accept walk-ins. However, that does not guarantee that I personally will be available at the moment you arrive there. I do manage my own appointments independently of Low Life Studios and I strongly recommend direct communication through me. It will make your experience much smoother. You can ask me about your tattoo by filling out a contact form.

Our time together: Priceless!

As a tattoo artist, I believe in fairness and transparency when it comes to pricing. My method aims to create a stress-free experience for clients while also considering their individual pain thresholds.
While I do generally estimate the duration of tattoos (the larger ones are harder to guess), it’s important to note that these estimates are just guesses. If you have a specific budget in mind, we can discuss it during our consultation.

I accept cash or e-transfer as payment options.

I am willing to tattoo up to three days in a row, especially for travelling clients. I can also work different areas of a tattoo as long as the work area doesn’t interfere with areas that are healing.
That being said, 2-3 weeks between appointments allow time for a tattoo to heal.

As per Alberta Health Policies, you need to be at least 18 years old to get a tattoo. Unfortunately, we cannot consider parental consent for minors. Not adhering to their policies could result in our shop being shut down. Thank you for your understanding.

I offer a complimentary one-hour consultation to collaborate on your tattoo design. This is a chance for us to explore ideas together and shape your vision. After this session, you’re welcome to commit to the tattoo or, if you’d like more time or clarity, we can schedule a follow-up consultation.

My goal is to make sure you feel completely confident in your design. I’m happy to refine it until it’s just right. However, if the design process requires extensive hours beyond our initial consults, a design fee may apply to cover that time.

In most cases, you’ll see the final drawing at your tattoo appointment, since our consultations will have already brought everything into focus. If you’d prefer to view the final design beforehand, we can book an additional consult after a deposit has been placed. Should you decide not to proceed, the deposit helps cover the time and care invested in your design.
